UnitechEDI is now compliant with Chapters July 2010 changes

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

What you need to know:
The UnitechEDI software is now compliant with the July 2010 changes requested by Chapters/Indigo. We do not currently support pallet level ASN, but that is a request, not a requirement, and Chapters/Indigo has been advised of this.

What you need to do:
The main operational change is that each store might have 2 SAN codes. If your fulfillment system cannot handle that, you will need to contact Chapters/Indigo and advise them. If you can handle that, you will need to contact Chapters/Indigo to schedule testing. Please update UnitechEDI software to get the latest version.

The other requirement involves the SSCC number on the carton label (referred to as HU# by Chapters/Indigo). That number must conform to industry standards. This label is generated either by your fulfillment system or your WMS. We believe that all of the labels being generated by UnitechEDI clients do comply.

You may have recently received the following email from Amazon:
Amazon is adding a new fulfillment center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Please ensure that your systems and warehouses are updated to include this new location.

Amazon.com dedc, LLC
675 Allen Rd.
Carlisle, PA 17015

EDI Vendors:
If you receive the EDI 850, please add the new location in your system as soon as possible to enable you to process orders for this new facility. Depending on your EDI configuration, you will either receive the SAN code or FC Code PHL6.

New Ship-To Facility Codes:
Amazon FC Code: PHL6
SAN: 8018154
SAN For Media Carton Qty Receiving: 8018162

Live Date:
Beginning July 12, you may start receiving orders for the new facility via the EDI 850 Purchase Order

EDI Information:
Amazon will send the FC or SAN code in the Ship-To N1_04 element. For the FC code the ’92’ qualifier will be sent in the N1_03 element. For the SAN code the ’15’ qualifier will be sent in the N1_03 element. You will be required to return the same code in the Ship-To segment of the EDI 856 document.

FC Code Example: N1*ST*AMAZON.COM*92*PHL6
SAN Code Example: NT*ST*AMAZON.COM*15*8018154

For a complete list of all Amazon North American fulfillment centers and EDI SAN codes, please login to Vendor Central and navigate to RESOURCE CENTER > Technical > North America Fulfillment Center Locations to download the file ‘EDI Specifications and Survey.pdf’. If you have any questions related to the Amazon SAN and FC codes, please login to Vendor Central and submit your questions, using ‘Contact Us’. The ‘Issue’ and ‘Subissue’ you select should be ‘EDI’ and ‘General EDI Questions’. An Amazon EDI technical support associate will reply to your inquiry within 24 hours.

What this means to you:
You will need to make sure that you have added this ship to record to your customer master file, and that you have also linked it to the Amazon bill to record.

UnitechEDI will be providing a software update to accomodate this new address in your EDI invoices.  The update has no impact on EDI orders or acknowledgements.  We will notify you when the update is available.
