Borders is adding a message segment to its ANSI X.12 850 purchase orders. For version 4010 850, this will be a MTX segment between the DTM and N1 segments, as indicated in the attached specification. If you are not receiving version 4010 purchase orders from us at this time, we will be modifying older versions as well, to include the messages as soon as possible. If you would like to move to version 4010, please contact us at edisupport@bordersgroupinc.com.
The message may change from time to time. While we intend on implementing the MTX segment as soon as possible, we realize that for some of our business partners, their EDI systems will balk if an unexpected segment is received, some will ignore the segment if their EDI maps dont use the segment at this time. If the addition of the MTX segment will require modifications in your system, please contact us as soon as possible.
