What does it mean to me?

If you now send EDI ASNs to Amazon and you are a prepaid freight vendor there is nothing new to do. No need to read further.

If you now send EDI ASNs to Amazon and Amazon pays the freight (you are a collect vendor) you will need to send a routing request at least 24 hours prior to requested freight pickup for all loads over 150 pounds (LTL and Truckload). This routing request form is available in the Amazon Vendor Central Resource Center. This email routing request is in addition to the EDI ASN.

There is no routing request needed for small parcel shipments, just the usual EDI ASN.

If you do not now send EDI ASNs to Amazon……

and you ship your freight to Amazon prepaid, you will need to send an ASN via the Amazon Vendor Central Resource Center Website for all shipments. This will include line level detail.

If you are a Collect vendor (Amazon pays freight) you will need to send a routing request/load notification with line level detail via the Amazon Vendor Central website for all LTL and Truckload shipments.

No routing request is needed for small parcel shipments, just the Vendor Central ASN.

Web forms such as Vendor Central are a great way to allow the smallest publishers to comply with Electronic Reporting Requirements without making any investment in software. However, as with all manual operations, there is definitely a labor cost involved as you enter information to describe the shipment.
